Bandung Food Festival

On 27 of June, a Bandung Food Festival was held in Cihampelas Walk. A huge varieties of traditional Sundanese foods were shown in this event. In one corner, there were a mount of candies and sweet snacks which can be tried freely. In this event, some traditional dances were performed on the stage installed in the middle of Ciwalk's garden. I will post the picture of dance performance after July theme day. The day after, on 28 June, a larger food festival was carried out at Gasibu, in the front of Gedung Sate. It's practically a national food festival since you could find all Indonesian traditional foods in this event.

Balancing his boat

Last week, I visited Nunukan village at Cililin, about 20 km to the south-west of Bandung. My students of Chemical Engineering Department - Institut Teknologi Bandung did a social service building a clean water production unit for Nunukan society, Pure Water for Society Project. Polluted water from this Saguling lake is pumped through 200 meter pipe, and then purified by water purification unit using membrane technology. Pak Ulin brought me to the middle of the Saguling lake using his boat, where the water pump is installed. This is a complete story about this project.

Duck'n Duck King Group

Suddenly, Patricia and I just choosed duck as our dinner. I don't know how it just came to our mind. Duck! Hmm...
We then came to Parijs van Java, our favorite place for this kind of matter, spending time. We knew that there're some places that we could choose there, at Parijs van Java. We sit at Duck King Group Chinese restaurant, not only because it's the only restaurant that serves duck in this place, but also it has an excellent environment for having dinner.
All dishes we ordered that night, mixed barbeque, eggplant with salty fish, and shrimps with garlic sauce, were surprisingly deliciouussss....!

The Famous Jalan Cihampelas

Ten years ago, whenever you talk about Bandung, you have to mention Jalan Cihampelas, the Bandung's center of jeans. This street used to be very busy during weekend, filled by the people from Jakarta that wanted to spend their weekend here. This situation promoted this area to be one of Bandung's most important business center. Since 7 years ago, factory outlets took over the role of Jalan Cihampelas as the Bandung's center of fashion.

Dealing with traffic in Bandung is tricky. For me, motorcycle is one of easiest solutions to be able to move in a crowded street. No wonder, during this weekend, Ciwalk was full of cyclists presenting the row of wheels.
