Jaipongan, Sundanese Traditional Dance

Jaipong or Jaipongan is a very popular Sundanese traditional dance. Jaipong used to be a social dance performed by couple, girl and boy, but lately it became a staged dance usually performed by girls like the above picture. This dance is accompanied by gamelan, a traditional music ensemble played by a group of musicians.
This picture of dance performance was taken in Ciwalk during the Sundanese Food Festival.

Nice knowing about your culture and the dance form...we too have so many traditional dances & monsoons are the best time here to showcase them...nicely captured shot too!
